bike ride ends tragically with a father and daughter killed. don knapp is in concord >> traffic continues to whiz by the accident scene. there is a growing floral memorial left behind by people who continue at this hour to come to the scene. relatives kneel and pray on the sidewalk where a crash claimed two family members and injured a third >> web father and my knees passed away, he was a great father and a good husband and a good role model for teenagers and a good soccer coach and i am dearly heartbroken today. >> he and his two daughters were riding bicycles on the sidewalk here alongside treat boulevard when they were struck by a large vehicle. wreckage and debris give a sense of the violence of the crash.

the damaged car, a heavily damaged building and bicycles on the ground >> the fire hydrant landed in the riddle of the street, that had to be a pretty hard hit. it was pretty devastating to see bikes all over the ground. >> authorities say the s-u-v was moving fast on a 45 m.p.h. streak when it slammed into three bicyclist. it continued and it went over a fire hydrant before hitting a building >> a fire hydrant had flown up in the air and i was like the third car and we were in the left lane and one of the little girls was in the street >> the man and his daughter were killed and a 12 year-old daughter was taken to john muir hospital with non life- threatening injuries >> there was a young girl screaming about her legs so i ran over to checker and i could see that she was not going to die so i ran over to the man and

through the apartment building moments after an faa 80 navy jet crashes. you can see parts of the wreckage smoldering in the fire surrounded by thick black smoke >> the whole thing was in flames and then things started to explode and things just kept exploding in the black smoke kept coming >> new video shows firefighters and police breaking doors to rescue anyone who might have been trapped in the building. >> we truly believe the miracle has occurred here with us not having any victims. >> the two pilots were able to eject safely >> i think the pilots deserved a lot of credit for staying with the airplane as long as they could. the ejection was within a couple of seconds of the impact

>> easter is tomorrow so everyone is wondering what the forecast holds. the weather does not look too bad. out the door right now mostly in the 40's. for tomorrow for easter sunday it looks like we will see a repeat of what we will see today. temperatures will mostly be great in the '60s to the very low 70's. i note earlier in the week we had talked about a chance of rain may be in the north bay but it looks like swim to no chance now. it looks like for the most part it is not budging. monday looks nice and dry with mild temperatures and tuesday is

>> catholics held a candlelight vigil at the church of the holy sepulchre in jerusalem. thousands crowded into the ancient church believe to be the site of jesus' burial and resurrection. it with candles to usher in easter sunday. easter will not be here for a couple of hours but that did not stop children in the east bay from getting in on the fun. this is the action this afternoon at the oakland school easter egg hunt. it has become one of the largest free events for children in oakland. another east her condition is marshmallow peeps.
